SVE Launches 1,500

Jan 28, 2024Jan 28, 2024

For the final model year of the Bow Tie brand’s sixth-generation muscle car, the 2024 Chevy Camaro is available with a few distinctive packages, including the Collector’s Edition and Garage 56 Edition. Now, aftermarket tuning companies are jumping into the limited-edition fray, as Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) has announced that it will build Yenko/SC Camaro Stage I, II and III packages.

Based off the Chevy Camaro 1SS 1LE with an automatic (Stage I only) or manual transmission, SVE takes the sublime 1LE suspension package and adds gobs of power. More specifically, Stage I delivers 1,150 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque, Stage II produces 1,200 horsepower and 1,000 pound-feet of torque, and the new Stage III churns out an astonishing 1,500 horsepower and 1,350 pound-feet of torque.

As one might imagine, SVE takes great lengths to bulletproof Yenko/SC Camaros for these power levels. To this end, Stage I and Stage II vehicles get a custom-built supercharged 6.8L V8 gasoline engine based off the 6.2L V8 LT1 engine, while Stage III units get a new supercharged 7.0L V8 gasoline engine.

No matter the stage, all engines feature a computer-balanced race-quality rotating assembly, forged 4340 steel crankshaft, forged H-beam steel rods (Stage I and II only), forged pro series I-beam rods (Stage III only), forged aluminum pistons, CNC ported high-flow LT4 cylinder heads with high-lift springs, upgraded valvetrain (Stage III only), ARP high-strength head and main studs, custom supercharger with a 10-rib dedicated belt drive system and an upgraded fuel system/injectors, a larger throttle body, and custom stainless steel exhaust system.

In regard to exterior touches, SVE erred on the subtle side and elected to keep modifications minimal. That being said, each Yenko/SC Camaro is equipped with side stripes and a body color-painted carbon fiber hood with exposed carbon fiber.

Notably, only 50 Stage I units, 50 Stage II units and 100 Stage III units will be built.
